So I'm building a bike work stand out of PVC pipe. I've got all the plans and designs worked out. The only thing left is something to hold the bike to the work stand. I've thought about letting it just sit on the stand without being held but it needs to be solid. It doesn't matter what size PVC as long as it's between say, 1/2 in to 2 in. I can get adapters. It should be able to hold (the vice/clamp) something about 1 1/2 in in diameter up to 2 1/2 in. Also easy to open close with one hand.

Oh, and is there a difference between the white and black PVC? I heard the black one is stronger.
