Given that tropical diseases are now largely curable or preventable, that life expectancy even in the poorest countries is now close to that in the richest, that atherosclerosis, type II diabetes, obesity, most cancers, drug addiction, and most mental illnesses do not exist in primitive peoples, what's the point of six billion people, sky scrapers, agriculture, the Bronx?
It seems to me civilization benefits the rich (the winners) and no one else, that it is simply one enormous race to dominate the other guy and win the social class/status race. It makes people sick and unhappy and medical science has reached a wall for life expectancy at 85. Unless aging itself can be retarded there is no point to civilization.
Of course I've only lived a semi-civilized life in the US.
