Civilization 4 Beyond the Sword help?

I recently bought the Beyond the Sword expansion pack for Civ 4 and when I start to install it, it says that a newer version of Civ 4 is available and that it needs to install it, but when it starts it says that the patch could not be installed and the installation wizard closes. What do I do?
