I have two questions for citing works within an essay.
First of all, I have a book that is a collection of J.R.R. Tolkien's letters and the book is edited by by Carpenter. When writing a quote from one of the letters, would I put Tolkien or Carpenter in parantheses?
The next question is also similar. I need to quote from Alighieri's Divine Comedy and it is in a book translated by John Ciardi with extra notes. Would I put Ciardi in parantheses?
