I'm doing an assignment and I'm just wondering...

If the author of the journal article is said to be John Smith, Ph.D. , for example, do I put this in my citations (in text and reference list)?

So like..... Animals are furry (Smith, Ph.D. 1999). Or do I just put..... Animals are furry (Smith 1999)?

Thanks for any help...

By the way, my assignment is not on furry animals, these are just examples, lol.

As far as what i have understood is that you need to provide the complete name of the author along with its designation. You must mention it as { Smith. John, Ph.D., 1999} along with the name of his writing. This is exact way to quote somebody's name.
