Cingy Phone That is, well Nice

I want a phone that can sync calender and to do lists with my mac, and possibly data in the future (like blackberry or other smart phone but a 3125 is also ok...). I just have no idea what to pick my budget is $200 and it needs to work world wide (so i guess quad band). HSDPA would be awsome if it could tether to my black macbook (think the blackjack can) then i would defiently get the data plan. So what are cingulars good smart phones and has anyone had experience with them on a mac? (winmo works, palm, blackberry, s60 too). Last requests are A2DP for bluetooth headphones and a good music player. A Memory card slot to is a must for that (want to replace ipod, and cell, and palm in one swing!)

Thanks in advance!!

Philz

P.S.
Will make the pilgrimage to the cingular store today.

I think due to your requirements to sync with a mac coupled with your budget makes the treo 680 a great choice. It doesn't have HSDPA, but for occasional web browsing, and email edge is just fine. I would rather suggest the 8125, because I have one and it is the best phone I have ever had, but I don't have experience with macs and heard winmo can only sync with the mac through third party software but I don't know if that is 100% correct.

When it comes to third party software i don't mind as you end up having to anyways with the palm as mac's built in for palm, is well, junk. It dosen't sync really anything but your contacts (which i don't have many sub-50!). When it comes to mac syncrinization, It can do series 60 symbian phones, Palm, windows mobile. I wanted to stay away from palm, as well. They are great, I've had a Clie nx-60 and a T3 but really the OS is starting to show it's age, no?

I've been looking at the:
BlackJack
Blackberry perl
Nokia E62
Cingular 3125

I will think about the treo 680, Out of those what would be the "recomended" choice? I do like to tinker with things a bit... so i don't mind (heh i had my palm reskinned and fiddled with pretty much everything same with my old h4355...)

The 3125 is a nice phone, it has the same operating system as the blackjack, only in a more phone shape. I have one (qtek8500) and I like it, but now that I have gotten used to having a full on PDA it is hard to go back to the more limited functionality of the smartphone platform.
The E62 is a phone that I don't have any direct experience with, but generally speaking I didn't like symbian that much, but it did have its good points and lots of people disagree with me about that. The E62 is just a fairly large device that feels like an old calculator when you hold it, and S60 doesn't have a lot of users in the US.
The Pearl is a sweet looking device, but I have read that the keyboard is kinda sucky feeling. Engadget wrote a story about that. and like the 3125 and e62 doesn't have hsdpa.
The blackjack is also nice, and because it has 3G I would recommend it over the others on your list, as long as you are sure that syncing wont be a problem.
good luck finding the right device for you.

Well i went the blacjack! I knew the treo was big but when i wen' to the store i didn't realize it was that big! Signed up for some plan with 400 txt's and 1 mb so i can use the Instant Messenger. Will decide next month on a data plan, as it seems to be up to me and well cingular how much you want to pay.

Besides all that, any recomendations on what to do with the blackjack now that i have it?

If you don't have a dataplan be very careful what you do and how you do it. You could end up with a horrendous data usage bill.
