Is it possible to switch Cingular to Cricket?I want cricket service but I do not like their phones. Here in Nashville on the Radio they said some place could change any carrier to Crickets service.I forgot the name of the place so I came on here to see if it was actually possible instead of going through the 6,000 pages on cellular in the yellowpages.LOL!!!

Please :help: me.

I agree Cingular has some nice hardware, but it WILL NOT work on Cricket. Cingular = GSM; Cricket = CDMA technology. 2 different technologies that do not work on each other's network!

If you're a hacker who understanRAB cell phone technology and can do your own tech support, you may "get away" with hacking a VZW or other CDMA phone for Cricket. If you're not, you will spend lots of time and money on this project, then spend time and money again trying to fix the phone if it develops problems. Using another GSM phone on Cingular or T-Mobile is fairly easy; using a "foreign" phone on a CDMA network may not be worth the time and expense.

if you can find someone in your area to flash the phone for you there will be no problems. it is possible to get everything working(WAP browsing, Clicks on brew phones, MMS, etc...) you need to find someone that knows what they are doing tho, and it has to be a CDMA phone. (verizon and sprint are the major ones in the us)
