cingular and 900 mhz?

I have cingular and I hated the 8125.
So now I am on the market for a new phone.
I absolutely love the Nokia E70, but it's currently only available as a 900 mhz and not 850mhz.
Does anyone have any experience using this phone with Ciingular? or another 900 mhz phone?

Also, one thing I hated about the 8125 was that I could not get passed my office firewall to sync my calender. Will this problem be easier with the symbian OS?

Thanks in advance!!!

My needs for a phone are:
qwerty keyboard or touch screen (like the imate jamin is okay without the qwerty keyboard)
wifi
syncing with outlook for my calender!
I don't want something big and bulky like the 8125
and it has to vibrate.

what you have to understand is that Cingular uses 850MHz and 1900MHz. The 900MHz band is for use outside the US and Canada, so the fact that you don't live in a 900MHz area means that this is irrelevant. What you need to do it check you have sufficient 1900MHz in your area, all the areas you work, play and travel in. If you, you can get the E70 which still has the 1900MHz band.

Cingular probably isn't the best choice if you only have a 1900 mhz. capable phone (as mentioned 850/1900 is for use in the US, 900/1800 is for outside) because in many places where they offer 1900 mhz. GSM they put their control channels on 850, meaning that even though there is 1900 mhz. available your phone won't "see it". T-Mobile OTOH has 1900 mhz. exclusively for their native network, so if you look at their coverage map, your phone would be able to pick up their entire home network. IMHO, it's getting less and less feasible to use a phone in the US that doesn't have 850; as I mentioned, Cingular is putting many of their control channels there, and even T-Mob is jumping on 850 via their many new roaming agreements... Basically it will cut you out of a lot of potential coverage that you are paying for, and I couldn't live with that just for having a 'cool phone'... of course, that depends on the person.

I have the E70, and I have had it for about 3 weeks. I travel from the mexican boarder, all the way up to Paso Robles (central California). The phone works great.

I have noticed a VERY SLIGHT increase in dead spots from the Cingular branded 9300 that I was using before. But the features of the phone, FAR outway the occasional dead zone.

I also have heard that an 850 version of the E70, called the E70-2 will be available next month, if you feel like you need to wait.
