Cingular 8125 or Sprint PPC 6700

I'm leaning with Cingular's phone, since it'll come out to about $100.00 less for the phone, I'll get unlimited data and 900 minutes, free nights/weekends and rollover for around $100.00 a month. But Sprint's phone, even though it'll cost me about $400.00, and gives me only 500 minutes, is also giving unlimited data, free nights and weekends, and adds free incoming. Plus, I can always switch to Nextel if I want to. Now what'll determine my decision is this: I'm in North Jersey, and which of the two has better reception, faster network, more reliable...

And what's the difference with the two phones, besides the exterior?

Well, here in St. Louis sprint is cheaper monthly too... $60 for 1000 min ('fair and flexible plan') and $15 for unlimited ('sprint power vision access pack') so that's only $75/month, $85 if you want extra tv channels. So on a 2 year contract saving $100 on the phone will cost you $600.

the sprint is muchhh more powerful but has worse battery life. and see how much both plans will cost a month. if your going to use it for heavy data DEFINITELY go with sprint IMO but if talking and occassional web is for you then go with the 8125

I agree with Kisher, the sprint phone has a 400mhz cpu while the 8125 has only 200mhz. In terms the cingular is better for talking and slight casual browsing. But for videos, music, and heavier site viewing I say go with the sprint phone, I used a verizon version of the phone which looks abit better with the black casing and the battery wasnt that bad really, I can go through a day with moderate to slightly heavy use, but at night u definitely gotta charge the thing.

Now I heard that even though it's only a 200mhz, it's dual-core, which supposedly makes up for it. I think I'm going with the Cingular one, though. Hey, as long as it runs faster than a 930, I'm set.

dual-core?! woah who ever told you that aint no what he's talking about.... Theres no such ppc or smarthphone that has a dual-core cpu man...

youll be happy with either one you get so dont worry... but the sprint EVDO is lookin good to... so thats why i would go with that

yep, sprint's faster and cheaper if you can put up with their customer abuse er... 'service'.

ps. If you do go with sprint remember that they have odd names for things, for example, if you want customer service you have to ask for 'retention'.

even if it was dual-core (and its not) there processors are alot slower compared to Intel cpu. But whatever, in my opinion the sprint or verizon version are alot better. If you can stomach the bad customer support and pricing ofcourse
