The only "definite things" are that I'm going Cingular, and that I'm not interested in a data or online plan. They're cool features, but I'd rather not pay a monthly service to browse online maybe once a week while in line or waiting between classes- and I don't receive many emails, so it doesn't phase me much.
So I'm looking for a high-tier phone that doesn't necessitate anything other than a voice plan. I'm going to use it for voice and texting. Camera is important- prefer >1MP, video capture required. It'd also be cool to use as an MP3 player. I'd also really like a nice sized, crisp screen so I can use this to organize my life. Decent calendar software is a necessity.
Smart phones aren't out of the question, assuming that data on them isn't required, as I understand it is on the Blackberry.
My first thought was the Samsung D807, but after hearing bad things about reception, I opted against.
The Sync, 3125, and CU500 all look good, but I'm all ears for anything else.
I suppose that any unlocked GMS phone is fine, but I'd like to just go with Cingular for the huge contract discount.
