Cineworlds policy of not showing new releases!

My local cineworld has fouteen screens and half of them they seem to deicate to bollywood movies, which is ok seeing I live in a area with a very large population of Indian people.

This Friday sees the release of (so the cineworld email tells me) A PROPHET, Armoured, Brothers and Ninja Assasian. Out of all those only Ninja Assasian is being shown in my local cineworld. Now I understand that they can't show everything but it always seems to be the films I really want to see that they drop. I've emailed them in the past and they reckon they base it on how well previous films of the same type do in the cinema. Personally I don't believe that, but I have no way of proving it so have to take their word for it.

Sorry for the rant but I'm fed up of not seeing new releases when they come out. I'd say for every 3 new films in a week my Cineworld will show one on the week of release and maybe if lucky the others may appear in the next few months, but more then likely not. Just glad the unlimeted card works out at me only having to watch about two films a month to get my moneys worth.

How long has Nine been out for? Because ive only looked for like the last two weeks but it's not been on at all so far at my local. So i'm not sure if they ever showed that!

We seem to have a similar problem with our local Odeon for some reason it's not showing Ninja Assasin so we'll have to go to the nearest cineworld to see it

My cineworld has 15 screens and shows it fair share of bollywood films but it's showing all those movies Jamie mentioned, looking forward to A prophet

Although it's a slightly long-winded process you can use Time Out's web site to check the nearest cinema that's showing any given film. Assuming the OP's nearest Cineworld is Feltham ('cos it's a fourteen-screen multiplex to the west of London which shows a lot of Asian films), then the nearest cinemas showing those new films are:

A Prophet: Richmond (Curzon, Odeon); Kingston (Odeon); ShepherRAB Bush (Vue)

Armored: ShepherRAB Bush (Vue)

Brothers: Brixton (Ritzy); Stratford (Picturehous).

So Brothers isn't getting a wide release even in London and the others are getting into the usual places that show a slightly more specialist selection of films. I'm sure I'll go to see A Prophet but the others don't appeal. And as for Ninja Assassin... a garish and poorly filmed chop-socky frolic that makes about as much sense as an Escher painting viewed through Vaseline-smudged Ray-Bans. - Time Out.

The problem is I have a cineworld unlimited card. Going to another cinema to watch a film that may or may not be shown in the coming weeks at cineworld sort of defeats the object really.

The trouble is that West London is not a Cineworld stronghold. Vue have several good sites here, Odeon have a couple, but Cineworld aren't that bothered about us. Unless you fancy a trip to Cineworld WanRABworth, which seems to get a better selection, you're out-of-luck.

Yeah the next closest cineworld to me is Hammersmith. and that would take me a good hour to get in the traffic. Feltham I could walk to in 10 minutes.

Wouldn't be worth it with the extra cost. Plus it would ruin my plans. I normally watch a afternoon film then go off to the gym and get home in time for tea.

At Chesterfield cineworld, they never seem to show bollywood movies, probably because there are only 10 screens. I've never had a problem of their being a movie I want to see but them not showing it at all. Are still showing big movies two months after the release sometimes (normally only once a day though).

Even if your area has a lot of Indian people, this is the UK so should not be showing bollywood movies in half the screens. I'd say only one or two.

My next nearest Cineworld, which is in cineworld, shows a couple of bollywood movies each week, but they have 20 screens so that is more acceptable.
