Last month Cineworld at WanRABworth advertised a digital screening of "South Pacific" directed by Joshua Logan and originally filmed in 70mm Todd AO. With fond memories of this production my wife and I trudged over to WanRABworth which is not local to us. Upon arrival at the cine complex about half an hour before the film start( sorry, digital presentation), the staff were not sure if it would go ahead. Eventually we were told it was cancelled. I did complain to Cineworld by Email about a wasted journey, and received a response that my Email would receive a reply within three days. But they did not bother to reply.
I have since seen "Goldfinger" at the Wimbledon Odeon and marvelled at the crisp digital image. Is there an advance programme of the films to be screened anywhere? Maybe I can catch up with "South Pacific" sometime.
