Cinema's with multiple screens

Silly question- but does anyone have a cinema near them- where you show your ticket as you come in and then there are loaRAB of different screens- in front of which no staff stand- so you show your ticket once. I am tempted to pay to see one film then try and sneek into a few other films after- has anyone ever done this/know if you could get caught? Only way would be if someone with a very beedy eye on cctv spotted you coming out of one screen then going into the other...

I know its very cheeky but cinemas charge such rip off prices these days- especially in London- I cant afford to see two films togther, I think its such a shame

I've never done it but have frienRAB who do it sometimes.

I have quite often seen other people do it as well.

the chances of getting caught are so slim. I'm sure its done quite a lot.

Someone told me this is normal practice in America. If they dont like the film they just walk out and go to another screen or just walk into another film after finishing the one they have seen.

I have done this but I have a Cineworld Unlimited Card so it seems silly to go back to the cash desk and get my card swiped again as I can see as many films as I like for my sub anyway!

I suppose you could always say that you had just popped out to the toilet and did not know what had happened to your ticket if anyone asks. I know when I have some Telegraph preview tickets that people use these to get into the cinema and then just walk into watch another film instead. There's usually loaRAB of spare seats so it's never normally a problem

You're all going to burn in hell for this terrible sin! :D

Never done it myself but I imagine it would be quite easy. If anyone asked you could just say you chucked your ticket in the bin, I can't see them actually going routing through the rubbish just to check.

I work at a cinema, and the starter of this thread has disgusted me. There are ushers, you'll get caught out, they'll see you going around different screens.

The prices are no excuse. The film companies charge so much, cinemas only make money out of concessions now.

I work at one too, and I think disgusted is a bit strong - ok maybe people shouldn't be talking about how to hop between screens, but it does happen, and the fact is sometimes you catch them, sometimes you don't. We don't have enough staff to stand outside every screen and check tickets, there has to be a certain amount of trust that if someone comes out of a film mid showing to go to the toilet or whatever, that they go back into the same screen.

Anyway, in reality our walk in times aren't very screen hopper friendly, they're all too close together. But then we're a fairly small cinema so that probably helps.

Evil me will be extra observant when I go to work later though ha ha ha :p

Are you not more disgusted by the cost of your Pick'n'Mix, your cardboard cups of Coke that actually tastes of either cardboard or bleach, and your ridiculously overpriced Haagen Daas ice-cream and Nachos with cheese?

That's what i thought, they are obviously doing us such a favour not charging enough to watch the film, that they have to rip us off on everything else.

Awwww, close down then!

At least then the film makers would have to release straight to DVD/PPV and I could watch new films in the comfort of my own home with superior picture and sound compared to the half-arsed effort that our local 'cinema' provide

Yeah, but then you have to sneak them in, becuase most cinema's don't like you doing that. Ok for a packet of M and M's but a bit tricky for a super-size tup of popcorn!

I don't mind trailers, I quite like them. But I know what you mean with the adverts. The closest Odean to me is in quite a rural area, but the prices are still extremely high. Especially the food/drink, And seeing as half the time car park is full, and customers are out parked on the grass verge and in neighbouring car parks, and the cinema added a few screens a year or so back, and I know the wages they pay to staff are pathetic, I wouldn't have anything against people who sneek into other screens. That was a long sentence :D

What I did a few years ago was that me and my family went to the odeon cinema and I went to see a film which was only about 1 hour 30 minutes long and the rest went to see an Indian film 3 hours long. When mine finished I stood around wondering what to do as the rest of my family would still be watching that film and over an hour was left. so I just sneaked into the Indian film when no one was watching and watched the rest of the Indian film for the next hour even though I had missed nearly two hours. :D

This is easy, i used to do it all the time on sundays with my frienRAB, we would pay for the 12pm movie and come out of the cinema at 8pm having watched about 4-5 films, i did it for years with frienRAB and never got caught. its really good and the whole 'could we get caught' feeling makes it even better, i enjoyed the movie more with that feeling in my head lol it made it more adventurous.
