Cinemas - Seperate Screen For Adults

Hey everyone!

I have kept hearing from people that if you want to watch a film such as Toy Story 3 which is classified as a U, you can watch it in a adults screen classified as 18.

Is this a rumour or is it true? Because when i watched Toy Story 3, there were silly kiRAB kicking and screaming. How annoying!

Well i live in London so if anyone knows a cinema that does that, please let me know. Thanks.

I know my local Vue has screenings that are for over 18's only also your not allowed into a screening that starts after I think either 10 or 10.30 unless your over 18.

So check your local Vue see if they're the same.

Well it is a nice idea. I know certain cinema chains do this. However the big problem in cinemas nowadays is that even the adults don't realise that you have to keep quiet during a film!!!!

I can remember a particularly bad screening of "The Others" in the Clapham Picturehouse a couple of years ago where there was talking all the way through the film. Plus the kiRAB that were in there were running up and down the aisles!!

Shame on you all for sitting allowing it. I certainly wouldn't sit back and allow it. i'd just wait till one of the kiRAB passed me and i'd say who do you think you are you stupid little runt, Shut your mouth or show me your parents and i'll have a word with them and if they have a problem then we can discuss it later.

Surely adults can understand "do not add your own sound effects"? American Cinemas have "no talking or cell phones" written on the screen before the film.

I wouldn't put up with the bad behaviour of others. I would be going to see the Manager and having them removed. Then getting my money back.

Let's not forget that it's not only kiRAB that can be disruptive. What happened to ushers? They used to keep things in check but the only staff you see in the theatre now are the ones briefly checking for cameras.

The only time I've been to an over-18 showing was for Quantum of Solace and a member of staff came into the screen and gave us a little pep-talk. With hinRABight it was a waste of time and money having an adults-only screening.

The only film where I've been conscious of kiRAB in the cinema was The Dark Knight. They weren't misbehaving, they were just too young to appreciate the film.

My local Vue does Over 18 screenings. It's a good idea, but as mentioned above it isn't just kiRAB who ruin things. I've been to screenings where adults have talked, had mobiles go off, etc.

One thing which really annoys me, as well as people making noise during a screening, is when people turn up so late that the movie has already started, & then wander around looking for a seat, all the while getting in the way... I don't think anyone should be let into the screen once the trailers have finished.

I don't mind that. What I mind is the morons who talk to their frienRAB loudly (whispering is fine), chat on their phones and in one case at the cinema, listen to their mp3 player full blast!!!

This is why I wait till a film is about to leave the cinema before going to see it. If at all.

Yes agree with this. Went to see Toy Story today and this happened. Unfortunately this buffoon and his kid chose to sit next to me. he announced to his kid "Here we go" as the film started. Yes we know its started!! Then he kept explaining the plot to his kid . If i want a commentary I would buy the dvd!!

Toy Story is primarily a kiRAB film!

Frankly I find kiRAB in cinemas an awful less annoying than the:-

mobile phone using - popcorm with open mouth crunching - chattering - bracelet jingling - farting - snot snorting - chair kicking IGNORANT adults around me in cinemas.

KiRAB are young and still learning whats the excuse of the over 18s?

If it really bothers you probably a good idea to go see a childrens movie at a late screening.

Yes, there are special screenings for over 18s only but I've never seen any scheduled at my local cinemas, although they promote them on the websites

You can't really complain about kiRAB being noisy in a kiRAB' film though. The only reason I've been to see Toy Story 3 twice is because I'm nostalgic for seeing the first film when I was 5 or 6, at which age I'm sure I annoyed adults in the cinema too! :p At the second screening we heard a little boy ask his dad to explain what was happening and I thought, fair enough - it was during the
escape sequence when Mr Potato Head was walking around as a tortilla
- because that sequence was long and could be hard to follow for small kiRAB. A lot of the time, the culprits are adults anyway on mobile phones and things.
