Cinema Ticket Prices

The difference between StarCity (as it was at one point, the largest cinema in Europe) and the Odeon (which is like 10 screens but originally had one) is massive. I'd rather pay the extra to go to StarCity... Its a much better cinema.

indeed it is, I havent been to any other cinema since Star City since it opened! BTW the Odean I was talking about has three screens lol (Sutton Coldfield)! :)

Altho Star City is a tad expensive, it is very very good. I especially like how you can get your tickets online or instantly using those little credit card machines... why there are queues and queues of people waiting to buy the tickets from the kiosk is beyond me :)

Before Star City opened i used to go to the Odeon just off Corporation street... that is a great example of a crappy cinema :(

Its on New Streeet. Potentially you could call it High Street. But no way is it Corporation Street.

Why on Earth didn't you go to ANY of the other cinema's in the city. Odeon is the worst ever !!
Even the electric has better seating, and that cinema is old (though the movies more than make up for the terrible seating)

I have fond memories of going to see Disney films at the Cinema in Kings Norton in Birmingham :D

It wasn't as good when my mum and sister dragged me with them to see 'Abba - The Movie'

It's the queue for drinks and popcorn which really annoys me. It is always so slow moving. It would be great if you could order this before hand as well.

I have noticed in some cinemas there is a self service section, but I don't see the point as you still have to stand in the same queues to pay. I assume that they are supposed to have a designated till point but ther never seems to be one.

Back on topic though, I see that UGC have intorduced a system whereby you pay

eh? i didnt say it was on Corporation Street, i said it was just off corporation street, with OFF being the complete opposite of ON :D

At Star City its proper self service... just pop in your Switch or Visa card and it prints the tickets for you there and then... and theres never a queue for them!

This is shocking, you would think cinemas would just have a standard price right through the country but I suppose it depenRAB on the rate of the bills they have to pay. :(
