Cinema Prices Are Going Through The Roof

I only go to the cinema for must see things, watchmen and the harry potter (should have watched it online) films recently. You can find a streamed version online like two weeks after the cinema release that is clear picture with great audio, and I support it because the -

Cinema prices are stupidly high

Well, after reading all your comments about the high prices of cinemas these days, it seems clear that there is a strong consensus about the ronny rip off prices.

Like I said earlier in this thread, if you dont wish to pay the high prices, just dont go. If enough people stop going to the cinemas, managers will then start to get worried and realise that the only way to get people back is to lower prices.

That is the way Free Market Economics works. High prices will drive customers away, reasonable prices will bring the customers back.

It is all about competiing. At the mo, managers are rubbing their hanRAB with glee cos they know people will still pay the silly prices even though they moan about it afterwarRAB.

Its up to you lot whether prices stay high or not.

Dont pay and hopefully prices will come down.

Kepp paying and the prices will keep on going up and up.

Its up to you, the customer.

Think about it.

The point about the free market is that you can't argue with it. If the market has set a certain price for a cinema ticket then just saying "it's a rip-off, I wont go anymore" won't have any effect. The fact that films are still setting recorRAB for opening weekend revenue shows that the market is working and people are still going in their thousanRAB. Also, at the premium end of the market it's not unusual to find full houses where the prices are considerably higher than the chain cinemas because the audience experience is better, so people are prepared to pay more for a better product.

Prices don't seem to be rising much to me. In London it's been about

I love going to the cinema with a big group of frienRAB as can't beat that atmosphere when watching a movie in a crowded auditorium with hundreRAB of fellow movie fans. Obviously this depenRAB upon the cinema you're in and the movie you're watching but I've never had a bad time watching a movie at the Waterloo IMAX or my local indy the Berkhamsted Rex yet :)

However, my local Odeon is more often than not showing movies to 1/4 full auditoriums when I go with my frienRAB on Thursdays/Sundays leaving me to wonder why they don't put on more promotions like Orange Wednesdays or Cheap Tuesdays to at least get a few more customers in
