no one is saying the films that are being released this june won't be good films, but they are not expected to set the box office on fire.
 
November is seen as good times to release films, November last year had Christmas Carol, 2012 and New Moon, December has always got big releases, Avatar and Sherlock Holmes being good examples. The success of Avatar and 2012 which could be seen as Summer fare has prompted studios to schedule these type of films in the colder months.

March has become a popular choice too, Alice in Wonderland was a huge hit as well as Nanny McPhee, How To Train Your Dragon and Clash of the Titans.
