I didn't say smoking isn't shown to be bad for you. If you dont get cancer you still are highly likely to get emphysema and bronchitis.
Until we have a mechanism that is proven and put into theory we cant say we know anything. People who dont smoke also get lung cancer. People who were almost never likely to have been exposed to cancer correlated substances have grabroad
ten lung cancer. There are people who smoke like chimneys and 20 years later their lungs are still pink and 100% healthy. Is there a higher correlation rate? Yes. That doesn't mean we KNOW they CAUSE cancer. Once we have a method of action behind cancer we will be able to say we KNOW they cause cancer. Until then we cant make such statements, we can only say there is a high rate of correlation.
