cigarette outlet in ford 1998 f-150?

hey i have a 1998 ford f-150 it has to cigarette outlets one says "power port" and the other has a picture of a cigarette, anyway in the manual is says i should only use the one that says power port for electronics but i want to charge my phone and ipod at the same time. so my question is, is it safe to use the other outlet for electronics? thanks!!!!

The one for the lighter has raw unfiltered, unfused power. A lighter takes a fair amount of power. It should be ok to charge the phone.

No, which ever one that is plugged into the cigar lighter will probably develop cancer.

Yes it will be fine. they both run on the exact same current it will not hurt your cell phone or your I-pod

William W what the heck are you talking about raw unfiltered power. A cigarette lighter has a fuse just like every thing else on a car.

there is an adaptor that u plug in to the port that has two ports in it so you can run both from the same power port
