What is the law in the United Kingdom regarding staff taking time off for cigarette breaks during the working day? I am not talking about their lunch breaks, I am talking about additional breaks during the day. Much of the online material is contradictory and opinionated. Does anyone know what the actual law is, and the Act that enshrined that law? I have to represent a staff member at a disciplinary hearing and I have to make sure I get it right!
