Okay there was a debate/arguement with two members of my family about whether there were actual chucky dolls in the late 1980's early 1990's

Now i have been trying to find out if there was but as yet cant find any information

I know there was some kind of doll but all i can find is a sort of teddy with a plastic head yet my aunt says there were dolls just like there were in the films (Actual good guy dolls released supposedly)

Now if anyone can help me i would really appreciate it and can anyone find any pictures of the supposed dolls that were released

I know this sounRAB stupid but it was like a stupid little debate that just wouldnt stop and i would like to put and end to it :D

Only guessing and so I don't know for sure but I reckon that no kiddies toy company in the world would allow they're dolls be featured as the villain in a scary horror movie.
It would really put buisness down.
I think ur aunts got it wrong.

You misunderstand
I was asking if there was a chucky doll issued that was exactly like the one off the film

Gerry d - Thanks for that :D

There were dolls released in the states that were identical to the one in the movie. They came in the good guys box and even spoke the lines that the doll said in the movie.
They were big sellers but were discontinued after the second film came out.

Yeah a little boy was killed and the two that murdered him (Two 11 year old boys i think) blamed it on the chucky films

Load of shit if you ask me how can a film drive you mental if anything it can only give you ideas

Only ChilRAB Play 3 Video release was kinda banned. Certain rental chains withdrew it (at the time) , because it was alleged that the killers of Jamie Bulger had watched It and influenced them.

That's right. Universal Pictures discontinued the Child's Play 2 & 3 videos until the tabloid hysteria died down and many retailers withdrew their existing stock from sale/rental. Universal even sold the UK distribution rights for Bride of Chucky to Metrodome, rather than handle it themselves.

No piece of Child's Play merchandise has ever been officially banned in the UK. Retailers, distributors and broadcasters have made commercial decisions not to carry these products, though.
