Chuck some film ideas at me please

For AS Level Media coursework, we have to produce either a film trailer (in the style a British independent film) or a trailer for a new BBC Three TV series.

My idea, up until a few minutes ago, was about a teenager, who after seeing his two best frienRAB die, believes that he can't possibly be unlucky enough to die himself, so goes and does lots of crazy stuff, such as drugs and jumping off buildings.

The only problem with that idea, is that filming stunts to justify crazy are going to be impossible with just a camcorder, so I have had to scrap that idea.

Any ideas for films?

I though the original idea was quite good. For what it's worth I think you should stick with it and use your initiative & determination to get it made...that's what seperates the great ones from the wannabes. (just dont break your neck in the process)

This should be easy - film a bunch of chavs being annoying and make a trailer in Windows Movie Maker.

To get the Chavs attention, nick their fags or booze or something.;)

Why are they being so prescriptive in what you can do? The 'style' of a British independent film or a new BBC3 series is the antithesis of what most viewers want to see, but is predicated upon us anyway by London-centric types in their own little bubble on too much creativity powder. I hope the rest of the course is a bit more varied!

In that vein, how about coked-up gangster asylum-seeking zombies invading the BBC3 studios, done in a comedy-musical style...

Stick with your idea bud, things like jumping off can be achieved by simple camera trickier. You don't actually need to see a person falling, just the impression that leaves the hard work to the viewers imagination.

For instance the person is filmed on a roof top, next you see the person climb on to the wall of the roof top. Next you see the person from the waist up (but the person is actually on a flat surface, next the person jumps but you only catch the waist and head as the person goes down, leaving the imagination to the viewer who thinks the person has jumped from the roof. Finally the last scene is the person at the foot of the building.

Good luck, plenty off advice on the net regarding camera trickery.
