i have a 1997 chrysler sebring coupe and everythings working fine except for the fact that right after i make a complete stop then try to accelerate it doesnt go forward then it just jerks forward really fast. i was wondering what could cause this and what should i do to stop it. i was thinking that it wasn't anything serious because i just passed a state inspection yesterday. but i would appreciate your help.

Have you checked the transmission fluid level ? Up to operating temp., on level ground, dipstick should read (full).

check the color of the fluid! red. you're good. brown and smells burned. not so good! Good luck!

I think it might be something with the engine. My 2003 PT Cruiser is doing the same thing. They did the computer diagnostic on mine and they told me it was due to fuel injection, throttle switch, and fuel throttle body. The difference that my car does go forward, it does run. It does that when I'm going like less than 15mph or I have my foot on the brake.

Properly warmed up generally means after driven for 20 minutes. Then check level. Might need a new filter and fluid.
