i have chrysler cerrius 1996,its giving me this error after changing the timing belt and the water pump "P0340 comshoft position sensor maltfunction" and keep cuting me off while driving, it will give me a hard time to turn on again, i need to wait ten minutes so i can turn it on. is this error related in any way with the timing belt and how i can fix it

Thank you
Monty

I doubt if at all has to do with your cam belt, if it was your idler sensor or camshaft positioning sensor it will not start at all.

How ever i guess it is an electronic component playing;
i.e. throttle sensor - air flow meter - injector relay - computer playing etc...

my advise is to have the car computer plugged to a scanner and try to retrieve the fault codes, that will help a lot, as it may solve the problem, good luck mate.
