I'm so excited for this movie!
I think they start with Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe because it's so well known. Not many people would see the Magician's Nephew I think.

I love the BBC versions of them too. They were done extremely well.

i didn't know they were making these into new movies. i love the old bbc version that i was raised on. it'll take a lot to beat those in my eyes

Oh good, I didn't realize there was a thread for this. I wish we could get our own narnia board. Anyway, C.S. Lewis is my favorite author and I love the Chronicles of Narnia. I've probably read them 100 times. They're just so beautiful. I've been looking forward to this movie for at least a year, probably a bit over. A while back I heard Douglous Gresham (C.S. Lewis' Stepson) speak at Biola and I am confident that he wouldn't let anything terrible happen to the integrity of the story. The teaser trailer is fabulous. I seriously almost cried while watching it.

If any of you haven't read the books, I advise you to before the film comes out. They're pretty short, so it shouldn't take too long, but so fabulous!

about the order; The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe is first in the original publishing order. It was published first in 1950. The publishing order goes like this:
1. The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (1950)
2. Prince Caspian(1951)
3. The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (1952)
4. The Silver Chair (1953)
5. The Horse and His Boy (1954)
6. The Magicians Nephew(1955)
7. The Last Battle (1956)

My old set of books is ordered this way. I advise this order on the first reading, simply because LWW reads like the begining of the series. As for the others, I guess you could kind of put HaHB and TMN anywhere after LWW since they are out of the normal sequence anyway. Only in recent years did they publish the books numbered in Chronological order like so:
1. The Magicians Nephew
2. The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe
3. The Horse and His Boy
4. Prince Caspian
5. The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
6. The Silver Chair
7. The Last Battle

It's sometimes fun to read it in this order with TMN first too, but I just feel that LWW should be read first. It's up to you, of course, to decide what order you want to read them in, but that's the story.

The trailer was so beautiful! I even downloaded it since I can't get enough of it. Mind blowing. Oh man, the music was awesome. It gave me the chills when they discovered Narnia and Susan said "impossible!!". Oh my goodness!

I loved the books (especially The Last Battle). I can't wait til December.

Hey you guys, just q quick question.
I'm from Germany and nobody knows about Narnia over here. I heard of it somehow but what is it actually about??

Wow - that is great news! I have heard such great feedback from people who saw it in theaters and are pumped for December! mh, where did you find that article? just curious...

I really hope this movie does well (totally think it will of course :)) but i would love to see this become the next big movie series and have them make all of the books into movies - that would be awesome!!

mh67511 - Yeah, I agree, I just have a personal preference for The Magician's Nephew because I was an adult before I even knew the book existed. The reason - everyone always starts with The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, including my teacher back in 1975 when we first read the story. But it does make sense.

As for the website - I really had no trouble but that's because I'm so familiar with the Harry Potter site. I suspect similar people (or the same team) came up with it since their so similar, and because WB and Disney work together (don't they?).

Wow, I am completely blown away by the trailer. I cannot wait until this movie comes out! I can picture some of the scenes so clearly from the book and I doubt I'll be disappointed.

And I love the music for the trailer. It's really beautiful.

Ah, okay - good. :D

Thanks, Claudia.

ETA - by the way, I've always thought that "Claudia" was one of the coolest names out there, and that's because I knew this incredible sophisticate (for a pre-teen) back when I was just a wee thing. She had long fingernails, which I'd never seen before (and which caused me to have a nightmare about vampires), and she knew the best urban myths and ghost stories.

Loving the trailer...Lucy is so cute.

Weta Workshop have done some concept work, but it isn't Weta digital doing the CGI!

WETA is AMAZING! I love their work... but although I thought some of the mermaids and creatures could have been better but I am sure that WETA will keep on working on them to make them more realistic...

I'm kinda looking forward to it. James McAvoy, one of my favourite actors is in it, but I don't really know anything about the story.

Ooh, is that the official movie poster?

I'm looking forward to the movie but I'm also worried that it'll end up being a disaster.

Oh, I hadn't heard about this!

Is it animated? *goes off to IMDb*

I LOVED the books as a child, couldn't stand them in my early adult life when I found out about the symbolism, then came back to them last year - rereading every one (including the one before The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe).

Ooh, yay!
