There is a new video featurette on this movie:

I'm really looking forward to this, but I wish they would update the official website and give us some stuff!

I love that! I watched it again reasonably recently. Such a blast from the past

Wow that picture of Aslan is fantastic! Is Aslan going to talk in the movie, and if so who will do the voice?

And millivanilla, I just keep noticing creatures that I recognize from descriptions in the book as well as certain scenes and moments I can picture so clearly from the books. Now I have to go and watch it again to remember..lol.

Wow, the movie looks very epic. You're right by saying it's very Lord of the Rings, even the music reminds me of it. I'm not sure if it's exactly what I picture but I'm still so excited!

I couldn't get a very good look at Aslan but I'm hoping he looks great. I really want all the animals to look well enough that I can feel for them as real characters.

Thanks for posting that link! I love those pics, esp the one of Aslan - he looks amazing :)

Castles - just curious... what kind of new stuff did you notice when you watched the trailer?

The trailer is going to be released on May 7th and will be playing before Star Wars; however, they recently showed it at a conference and you can see it at the following link:

As far as the trailer, I thought it was ok. I'm sure it will be much better on the big screen, but it just seemed too LoTR'ish. The shot of the castle especially! I also can't get those dang BBC versions out of my head.

I was reading reviews of the PBS versions and this one was really amusing:

 drag queen...I've never really though of her like that, but who knows? I love reading reviews - they always make me laugh.

Here's one more:

I don't know what's wrong with me but I am sitting here cracking up.

Sounds familiar! I re-read the first three and just couldn't believe all the religious stuff. Actually was a bit disappointed in the books the second time round but I loved the TV adaptation so much so I'd definitely watch the film.

I am so excited about these movies! I adore the books, and it's been so long since I read them I think I'll need to read them again this summer.

This movie was amazing, I loved it so much!

And I'm happy to say that they're doing another Book from the Chronicles to film, Prince Caspian! :)

I never read any of the books so when they started showing previews on tv, I was just sort of like "oh that looks cool" and shrugged it off. Then my sister kept saying "omg that looks SOOO good, I wanna see it sooo bad" like ever preview that came on for it so my mom finally went out and got and it let me tell ya, from the very first scene, I had shivers down my spine from the graphics and everything. By the end of the movie, I was in aww, I love this movie SOOO much, probably my fave, I can't wait for the second one!!!

Yeah the kids weren't too bad. I'm curious as to whether the beavers and characters like them will be CGI. That will be a little strange, since I'm used to the people in beaver costumes,.

I hope they release a trailer soon -- I've heard it is going to be released in April, but who knows. They BETTER show it before Star Wars!

I'm gonna have to re-read the books again. To be honest I never finished the series! That's always been a bad habit of mine.

Oh my Gosh, they bugged me also! It was very hard to concentrate when she was on screen. But I seem to remember all the children being decent actors. :)

They have added the trailer to Yahoo! movies and updated the movie info page a lot! In fact, they featured it near the bottom of the main Yahoo! Movies page.

That's not right. The series was originally written in this order:

1 - The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
2 - Prince Caspian
3 - The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
4 - The Silver Chair
5 - The Horse and His Boy
6 - The Magician's Nephew
7 - The Last Battle

The Magician's Nephew was conceived by Lewis only after the success of the earlier books, to respond in a way to fans, to explain how Narnia was created. It wasn't first. Only recent publications of the series have printed it in this different order. This chronological order goes 6, 1, 5, 2, 3, 4, 7. I have read the series in both ways, but The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe has always been "first" in my mind. It is the most fitting introduction of Narnia, and reading 6 before 1 will spoil some of the magic of 1, such as learning who the professor really is.

That said, I love these books. I saw the animated movie of the first book years ago, but that's not where the real magic is at. In the late 80s, the BBC made a TV series out of the first four books, and edited them into three movies.

The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe
Prince Caspian and the Voyage of the Dawn Treader
The Silver Chair

They are out on DVD, and are well worth it for the Narnia fan. The White Witch overacts horribly, production values are low, and special effects are pretty bad, but still, there's something about the gritty tone of these movies that really work for it, especially in the darker parts of The Silver Chair, and the last parts of The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (Caspian and Dawn Treader have been combined into one full-length feature). It really is too bad that they didn't get to make the last three. Hopefully these new movies will be a success and we'll get to see all seven fully realized.
