Chronicals Of Narnia 2 - Prince Caspian

I adore the first one! so will definitely see the second one, I missed the first one at the cinema, so be nice to see one on the big screen. The second one doesn't look as good for me as the first one though. The first had Tilda Swinton in(just a quick cameo or something in the sequel) and she was fantastic in the role.

I didn't notice whether Skandar had less screen time than the other three. It's only on forums like this that people seem to have noticed it.

I’d just like to second darkjedimaster's comment.

This is an absolutely excellent film, far better then the first, so much more development of characters – great action – great story – will be the hit of the summer.

Saw this today and really liked it and i thought i would hate as i hated the first film and Edmund what a shame they dont give him more to do as he is a fantastic actor.

The film was disappointing and I as others have said the pacing was awful and the characters thinly sketched out. I wanted to see more interaction between the kiRAB. I agree that Skandar Keynes was the best of the 5 actors but was badly under used. He has good screen presence and a dry delivery.

Barnes didnt grab me at all - all fake tan and excessively white teeth. Definately over promoted actor who doesnt deliver. Moseley and Popplewell are dire and Henley's cutesy act grates on me.

Just got back from the US and watched it there and I can confirm it is better than the original, well in my opinion anyway.

Its a slightly darker film than the first, but not by much. Plus there is Eddy Izzard as a talking mouse what more could you possibly want. :)

Saw the film last night and its seemed to draw out a load of nutters who laughed hysterically at everything that was said. I was a fan of the first film and grew fond of the child actors as the DVD extras showed what lovely kiRAB they are.

Having said that I dont think William Moseley and Anna Popplewell can act. Moseley seems incapable of delivering a line correctly and Popplewell speaks like a robot. There isnt an iota of emotion in her. Ben Barnes is satisfactory in the title role but he really doesnt strike me as someone with long term potential. The UK has much better and much more attractive actors than he.

As mentioned on so many reviews the script is very weak and doesnt give sufficient characterisation. The only focus is on the petty squabling between Caspian and Peter which isnt handled well. They should have focused more on the younger child actors playing Edmund and Lucy.

Skandar Keynes and Georgie Henley are excellent child actors and made the first film the success it was. I noticed many reviews have highlighted that Keynes was sidelined and the film suffers accordingly. Some even say the magic is lost because of it. They seem surprised that the film didnt pick up on what happened to Edmund's character after the trauma of the White Witch. That surely had more dramatic potential.

Sums up that the writers didnt know how to get the most from the film. Its padded out with too many battles and not enough emotional drama. Like many commentators I dont understand why the focused the film on the poorer actors. Adamson added himself as a writer on this film which speaks volumes. It shouldnt be left to amateurs.

I'm hoping Michael Apted will do a better job with The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.

thats what I was thinking in an interview with the director of narnia(in the cineworld mag) it said that the magicians nephew was his fave book and that he wanted to come back and do that I was like "but thats book number 1"?:confused:
