Hi my name is Crystal, my boyfriend Danny and I were reading the conversation and realized that my boyfriend has the same exact symptoms. He is seeing a lymes doctor now and thats what they think he has. He's been sick for the past 8 months and in two weeks they're going to start with the bicillin shot which is supposed to break the blood brain barrier. His symptoms are: Drunk spacy feeling 24/7 for the past 8 months, buzzing and ringing and popping of the ears, tingling sensations in hands, feet, and knees, spotty headaches that come and go, muscle spasms predominately in the left side of his body, fatigue/having the sense that he doesn't really want to do much of anything/tired all the time, poor concentration, gets lost mid sentence sometimes and forgets what he was talking about.
All this came out of nowhere. He was a healthy 29 yr old guy with a very active lifestyle. When he was first seen by his doctor he tested positive for lyme on the igenex test. Since then he had taken 3 weeks of doxycycline, 3 weeks of minocycline, and has been on spironil, biotox, b-100 complex, L-carnitine, Magnesium, Allicyn, Nystatin, Readisorb glutathione, and Cholestrolyte. He hasn't noticed ANY difference with the drunk feeling or any other symptom. Does this story sound similar to yours? Are you still taking medication? What meds are you taking if any? It definitely sounds like Lyme to me. I'm sorry to say that I've had no improvement whatsoever. In many ways, I feel worse. I was on antibiotics for a year and for the past month decided to stop since they didn't seem to help me at all. I tried the one's you mentioned, including doxycyline, minocycline, and bicillan shots. I also was treated intravenously for 3 months with Ceftriaxone. Nothing worked. I'm now looking into alternative therapies, among them Rife Machines.

My symptoms are 85% head-related including: migrating headaches (literally moving around), head stabbing sensations, head pressure, and wooziness. Then I also have massive fasciculations/twitching all over my body plus horrible malaise. This is an absolutely devastating disease. It really destroys your life. The worst part of it is not knowing how you're going to end up. Still, I keep plugging away, hoping that something clicks.

I'm very sorry about your boyfriend. But it sounds like he's on the right track so long as he's with a good LLMD. One thing you must realize is that everyone's story is different. He might very well respond to antibiotics if he finds the right one(s). They're so many factors that come into play including how long one's been infected, the strain one has, co-infections, age, general health, etc. etc.
