Chrome O.S. right for me?

If there is no internet in an area, can you do ANYTHING on the cr-48? I am wondering about this because if I travel to lets say Africa and there is no wifi and I need to do h.w. does that mean I can't do H.W. because there is no desktop? Also, how do you print and upload photos/files from a usb that you plug in? I am in 8th grade I like the concept of the laptop, size, look, and price (ebay). I do hw daily and sometimes don't have time to print so i save to my usb and bring my laptop to school. I travel to europe for vacations but I don't go on my laptop frequently while i'm there. Is this OS and laptop good for me>
