Christopher Nolan Confirms Batman 3

Well I have said all along that if The Riddler was going to be in the third movie that the best man for the job would be David Tennant

Some of you may disagree but thats up to you.

Tom Hardy could play a character like Bane (I think thats his name, he was in Batman & Robin) but maybe a bit more to say apart from "BAAAAAAAANE!!"

Riddler won't be in it although I do agree David Tennant would be great as him

Tom Hardy would be a great mobster type penguin. Plus it would tie in well as both BB and TDK have had a mobster theme running through it.

Yeah. She's the right age, has the right look, and we know she can play insanity well after her part in Heroes.

There are very few actresses I can seriously picture in the role but she's always been one of them. :)

It will be called Dark Knight Rises according Nolan (look on RAB for article) and Riddler will not be the villain but whoever it is it will be Tom Hardy.

3D doesn't have to mean Bad, as long as they don't use gimmicky things like weapons being thrown at the camera then 3D can be good, as long as it is filmed in 3D and not just put through the "process" like clash of the titans and the last airbender.

I'm disappointed with the choice of title. I was hoping it would be something other than TDK with "Rises" stuck on the end. Still, a film is more than just it's title, and after BB and TDK i'm sure Nolan will do good.

Can't really see the villain being a huge factor anyway. The first story was all about Batman's origins, Liam Neeson's bad guy was pretty interchangeable but that was fine, the story wasnt about that.

Then the second film was THE big bad villain story. I can't see anyone outdoing Heath's performance and I think Nolan will try to take emphasis away from focusing on the bad guy.

I know Tom Hardy is a great actor, Im sure his performance will be stellar but to me I don't really care who the villain is, I don't think the movie will be centered around it.[
/QUOTE]

think that is fair point, though in some respects, this will have to move away from the villian, simply because he was the centrepiece of the dark knight and it made it all the more powerful because of heath ledgers performance

Haha, people have spent the last couple of years arguing over who is the best fit for the role of The Riddler and now it looks like he's not even in it. :D To be honest, I'm not that bothered if he's in it or not. There are other interesting villains they could use, villains we haven't seen on film before.

I am not saying they should make it 3D I just don't think 3D would make it a bad film. I don't think the batman films are really anything special that 3D would ruin it. The second film only did as good as it did because of Heath Ledger, the batman character (in the films) is pretty boring, more so in the second one.

Anyway I digress, I just don't think 3D is automatically a bad thing as people seem to think on these forums, if done well then 3D works to enhance a film. But I am not saying Batman 3 should be in 3D.

Maybe it's just me getting old but I think leaving it alone would have been perfect. TDK is a great film, I don't think it needed following and having been disapointed with Inception I fear I'll be right.

As for Kristen Bell playing Harley Quinn? As much as I fancy her I just don't think she's that strong an actress. I'd love to see someone one really left field take on and nail a relatively unknown character as Heath Ledger did with The Joker. We've all seen the regulars so let's see someone like Rhas Ah-Ghul again but totally unconnected with what's been put down already. I grant you with the universe it's now set in some of the more fantastical characters would be hard to pull off but surely we don't have to resort back to The Pengiun or Cat Woman for example again?
