Christophe Waltz in Inglourious Basterds

I know they are marketing the film as a Brad Pitt vehicle (*snigger*) but most - if not all - of the reviews for Quentin's new movie have Christophe down as the main attraction of this film. got me thinking. Having read the script, the most intelligent and brilliant dialogue comes from Christophe's character. Yet, sadly, qt wants to surround that with pantoesque performances by brad pitt and eli roth.
 
It's not really meant to be a serious movie though is it? I don't really like Brad Pitt but it will be nice to see him do something a bit different and maybe even gain a new fanbase.
