Terrible Christmas film. It's supposed to be a comedy yet I've just found it annoying more than anything else. It just seems to be about residents bullying a couple into celebrating Christmas all because they had the audacity to say they were going on holiday instead of conforming to tradition. Merry Christmas.

Yep, it's so unrealistic and it's also utter nonsense, but I still like it because its one of those films I don't have to take seriously and treat as a bit of fluff

I haven't seen the film, but the short book on which it's based - Skipping Christmas by John Grisham - is excellent.

As far as simple Christmas films go, it's one of the best modern xmas films around. Sure it's no Home Alone. But to help kill a couple of hours when nothing's on telly, I've watched it twice.

It's brilliant, watched this for the first time last xmas and again this year, love it, exactly what xmas films should be like
