Christmas present activation swap question

Hello,

My wife and I have cricket in Beaumont Texas area (triband). We started about 2 months ago with the simple flex phones. I bought two messagers this past week (both are about 4 months old...but mint, great shape) and I want to give her one under the Christmas tree (and THEN, after she has hers, give myself one...lol). Having said that, logistically how do I do it so she can use it Christmas day? She uses her phone about 3000 minutes a month so I can't activate it Christmas Eve (even if a store was open??) doing so would make her phone not work and then it wouldn't be a surpise. Any suggestions. Also the corporate store from me is about 40 miles....and aren't they going to want hefty activation fees for both. Just trying to figure out the best, easiest way to swap phones out and timing to do so. Any help from you all is appreciated. Thanks, Jason
 
i would have it done christmas eve.... later that night. pretend u call cricket and service is down and wont b up till the next morning....
 
This is probably your best bet. If you do enough arranging, maybe you could even get the swap done as soon as you're heading to the tree.

besides that, Cricket is doing delayed activations for people this year. call in, they will schedule the esn change for midnight xmas eve and all you will need to do is *228 or manual program in the morning
 
delayed activations were scheduled to activate deceraber 23rd... so it was either this morning at midnight or tonight at midnight. never heard about delayed esn changes, but i do know they can put delayed dates on disconnect orders so why not..
