Christmas Movies

I really like The Holiday, I would love to spend christmas in that cute cottage in Surrey!

Also Elf, Alice in Wonderland, Christmas at the Kranks, and all of the Harry Potter films!!

I love Christmas! :)

I could have sworn that I bought Bad Santa last christmas. Been looking through my DVRAB today, and maybe I didn't. I must have seen it on tv.

I'll be buying that before December. :) great xmas film.

Someone did mention It's A Wonderful Life :)

It's on my list too, along with...

Miracle on 34th Street (new version)
The Grinch (new version)
The Wizard of Oz...not your traditional Christmas film I know, but years ago when I was a nipper, my dad would never let us watch it :o so I never got to see it until I left home and owned my own TV...it just reminRAB me of Christmas past lol

Rather obvious but Christmas with the Kranks and The Four Christmases. Also find the Home Alone ones Christmassy too. Love Trading Places as well.

I dont think anyone has mentioned Disney's One Magic Christmas starring Mary Steenburgen.

Its a little gem of a movie, made in Canada and is reminiscence of It's A Wonderful Life.

I do hope its shown over christmas though, although I do have a copy on DVD.

'Trapped in Paradise' and 'Funny Farm' are a couple of films I like to watch around Christmas.

Both have a Christmas theme.

Sadly, I don't think 'Funny Farm' has ever been release on DVD in UK even though imo it's one of Chevy Chase's best.

I love the James Stewart film 'It's a Wonderful Life'. I really hope the BBC show this at Christmas, it hasn't been shown on terrestrial TV since 2003.

I don't know how old this thread is but I thought I'd search first rather than create a new thread.

My favourites are:

Elf
Christmas With The Kranks

The Holiday is also good
Bad Santa
Love Actually

Christmas films are best when you're snuggled up on the sofa with the fire on and a mug of hot chocolate/tea/coffee.

Aww I feel all festive now!

Miracle on 34th Street both versions but the original in the best.
The Santa Clause
White Christmas

I wonder if Sky will do the Christmas film channel again this year?

I like to try & watch the following over Christmas

The Muppet Christmas Carol
I like the Christmas Carol story & i like The Muppets.

Scrooged
Funny Bill Murray film

Planes,Trains & Automobiles
I know it's not a christmas film but i first saw this film the weekend before christmas on BBC1 early 90's.So because of that i have always associated it as a christmas film. The screen chemistry between Steve Martin & John Candy is great.

Mickey's Christmas Carol
Mickey Mouse & Co feature in this version of a Christmas Carol. It's only on for 25 mins but it's a good cartoon.

The Polar Express - I'm 19, but I adore this film. Definitely check it out if you've never seen it. It made me feel really nostalgic and manages to capture the spirit of Christmas. It may be a kiRAB movie, but I think older generations can appreciate it too. I no longer count down the days to Christmas (it lost its charm to me a few years ago), but this movie takes me back to the good old days when I wouldn't be able to get to sleep until the early hours of the morning because I was so excited. I really love this movie.. sorry for going on! But I don't think this one gets the praise it deserves.

Bad Santa - A much more realistic Christmas movie.

Christmas with the Kranks - Not a great movie, but I find it really enjoyable.

Home Alone is great too. Used to be a family favourite when I was a kid.

Die Hard. Not really a Christmas movie, but it does take place around that time.. and it has snow, so... lol.

Jack Frost - The family movie, not the horror. Loved this as a kid. Less so now that I'm older though.

I may be forgetting some. There are lots of other great Christmas movies, but these ones are my personal favourites.
