Christmas Films (aka recommend some films to watch over Christmas)

Undoubtedly, the films on TV over Christmas will be gash. So, I have started compiling a list of films I want to watch during my extended Christmas break. These will consist of films I've never seen, films I've seen before, films I've seen parts of but not the whole thing and films I really ought to watch so the owner can have their DVD back.

So far:

Spirited Away (don't think I've ever seen it all the way through)
Salo (borrowed but never watched)
Layer Cake (deserve another airing)
Rocknroller (never seen, but I like Guy Richie's films)

Just a few that I will be settling down to watch in the coming weeks

Prancer - a nice christmas film, always one that comes out for this time of the year with me, along with

The Princess Bride
Die Hard
Raiders of the Lost Ark - well it is Christmas

Hell yes :D

And for more French horror try out 'Inside' which is actually set on Christmas Eve too! Although there's zero Christmas spirit :p

I always try and watch these films every Xmas, whether its on tv or dvd...

Die Hard
Elf
Muppet Christmas Carol
Bad Santa
Nightmare Before Christmas
Home Alone

WallE was probably the worst film I ever saw. Well I say "saw", I only managed 45 minutes, truly, truly dreadful.:(

Edit: Who framed Roger bloody Rabbit is equally shite.

elf
bad santa
the nightmare before christmas
home alone
die hard 1&2
batman returns
when harry met sally
toy story

egaRAB i'm repeating people already lol

Eww...
I tried to watch that a few years ago and I had to switch it off. It left me physically sick. Possibly the most disgusting movie ever!

If those are the types of movies you watch I doubt the ones people have recommended would be quite to your taste. lol

I watched the full uncut version of Salo a few months back. A truly disgusting film (especially the "Circle of Shit" section:o), but it's also one that i'm glad i've watched if only to be able to say that i know what all the fuss is about.

I'd never in a million years watch it again though.

If you are into that kind of "extreme" horror films then the previous recommendation of 'Martyrs' and 'Inside' are definitely for you! I'd also throw in 'Switchblade Romance' (A.K.A 'Haute Tension'), 'Frontier(s)' and 'Irreversible'. The French are really leading the way with horror movies at the moment. Although if you only watch one of those then i'd definitely say make it 'Martyrs', it's one of the best horror films i've ever seen. It really sticks with you psychologically afterwarRAB (keep the kiRAB away from it though! It could mess them up royally).
