... why use Bible quotes as proof when the non-believers DON'T believe?
(Note: this is a serious question, not merely a disguised put-down. This is something to which I really want to hear comprehensible answers.)
(Also note: seriously, honestly... it ought to be self-evident that quoting the Bible to answer this question is an automatic downvote, for crying out loud.)

@ Christians(?) like Landrau, rukidding, solarius: Hi, I'm an atheist who UPvoted you. Thank you.
To the user called "Me": Because I'm discussing a question of Religion and Spirituality. Is the board called "Yahoo! Answers > Arrogant Christians"? No. I've lost patience with you.
@ hardi: here's why you should be ashamed of your comment:
a) Bible has already been written, I've already read it - I'm not as closed-minded as you.
b) You've completely missed AND DEMONSTRATED the entire fundamental point of the question, demonstrating a massive attack of cluelessness on your part.
See? You didn't quote Scripture yet I downvoted you for a completely different reason.
@ Meghan W.: historicity/authenticity: not really, no. The whole point of disbelief in the Bible is that it's not a valid document. Superman comics are 70 years old, shall I base a belief that and back it up by quoting Action Comics #1? I upvoted you for the rest of your point, though.
@ The Great Cornholio: love the attitude, but you ought to turn down the hyperbole. Calling it 10,000 years doesn't help your argument.
@ eezy_jex:
a) What is a "true searcher"?
b) Superman flies through New York, Washington and the Moon. Those are all real places. Should I start worshipping Superman and the Justice League?
@ Elaine 30705:
a) What is the Bible if not "God's word"?
b) Where is "God's word" if it's not the Bible?
@ Darth Eugene Vader: Please explain, then, ex-preachers like Dan Barker who undertook bible studies and became outspoken atheists. How is that "God's purpose"?
