that he demands worship? I mean, If you were saved by a life guard who then demanded that you him worship upon threat of death...wouldn't that then detract from what would be an act of Nobility and honor? I know some of you might say it was the life guards JOB to save people, but the same thing would apply to God wouldn't it? Shouldn't it be God's duty to protect and save us and not something we should have to owe him for?
This is the one major problem I have with Christianity. If someone chooses to save you, or even sacrifice himself/herself for you, I would immediately recognize it as an act worthy of praise...but as soon as demands are made after the fact, its not really all that impressive anymore. In fact, there have been plenty of regular people who have sacrificed themselves for others with nothing asked for in return.

Here's the thing though, to get love you don't ever have to demand it, because then it wouldn't really be love at all. Also, Dogstar raises another good point which truly completes the analogy.
