Christians are just scared of the da Vinci Code

Well considering that there's over a billion christians and the protests seem rather small I'd have to agree that all of them are not against the movie or book.

However it is an attack on their religion, just as muslims were offended by the mohammed cartoons. Atleast christians are being civil about the whole affair thus far. I really don't see why people are choosing to attack them because they disagree with the book/movie

sorry that you feel that way, but just because it's fiction to you doesn't mean that it's fiction. there is no evidence/proof that it is, in fact it's actually the other way around. how so, how about the fact that it has survived this long alone might say one thing about it. no it doesn't prove that it's real, but it sure does pack a strong punch compared to your argument(s).

i guess i consider myself a non-practicing christian if there is such a thing,i dont go to church but i did while growing up, i can just hope that people dont kidnap and cut off heads over this movie like others did over a little cartoon

i dont get why these people that protest dont understand that all they are doing is supplying free publicity, does anyone thing "Passion of the christ" would have been so enourmous without all the protesters, if the church and its members ignored it, it wouldnt be that huge

i am definitly going to see it,because i think it looks good, not because i think its a true story

if your belief system is so weak that you need to lash out at a published work of fiction, then your belief system is highly flawed.

I dont think it is a matter of the content of this book being true but the fact that it raises the question that the story we know of christ could be false whether it be what is told in the DaVinci Code or something else.

Catholics are a joke. Their whole believe system is a joke. The pope, cardinals, and bishops care nothing of the believes or faith. The church is all about power and money and when a book like this makes their followers that give them the power and money question them, they want to ban it. If they knew what they teach to be true they wouldnt be so threatened by the book.

sorry, but that's a pretty darn weak rebuttal. please give me something better than "my belief system". please tell me that you have more than this pathetic argument when you started this thread.

once again, i will repeat myself. just because some are lashing out does not mean that all are. i would hope that you would know this by now by being so intelligent. yet, once again, i will repeat myself in that the majority of us Chistians are not lashing out, just defending our faith. if you have a problem with that, well guess what you are doing right now...

why do you see the need to defend against fiction though?

if it's just old fashioned censorship thats not a defence of your faith, if it blapshemy like monty pythons life of brian, then thats a reason to some to ban a piece of media. But this is a novel, which is claimed to be false, why should any religions feel threatened enough to defend anything?
