Christians: A question about graven images! Best answer gets 10 pts!?

I am reading the Scriptures more and I am starting to realize how much we take simple things like this for granted. Just curious as to what your beliefs are as far as graven images? I choose to no longer wear crosses and needless to say I have no Mary or saint statues or icons as they are evil and in clear violation of the Scriptures. What do you view as graven? To me it's simply defined as the second commandment defines it:

"You shall not make for yourself a graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them or serve them;" Exodus 20.

To me this clearly means no graven or carved images should be given veneration or any type of adoration in the belief that it possess some type of divine power or influence. What's your thoughts?
Hi guys! I just want to say THANKS for all the answers so far and also that I appreciate those of you who mentioned that idolotry is more than just graven images.

To those who mentioned that crosses are not worshipped or that they are fine for a representation of faith, I have to disagree. I think graven is graven is graven and I don't understand why the cross has to be the symbol that represents the faith.I think that should be our charity and good works. For anybody who wants to answer, why do you need a symbol to represent your faith?

My head is just fine, but if you actually think that Mary, Mother of Jesus is your "blessed mother" than you should really worry about your own. She is the mother of no one but Jesus, James and her other children. Not yours as I'm sure you have your own. Scripture does not support this concept, but as your answer shows, tradition and religion have a greater hold on you than truth and what God really says.

This is such an OLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD "question" that it's tiring to answer, but, here goes. Just because one has these "graven images" in their home or around their neck or hanging on the rear view mirror of their car or anywhere else does NOT mean they are "given veneration" or worship or ANYTHING the Bible says is wrong. They are simply a focal point for our thoughts, reminding us of our God, etc.. And I must say, I truly "love", as in very much appreciate the small crucifix I ordered from a Catholic catalog. It cost only $215.00, if you include shipping costs, and with that money, I can have yet another place in my home to be reminded of Jesus our Christ. I hope one day, when someone feels the urge to ask this question again, that they look at how many times this has been answered before, and, maybe if they read the answers, here or elsewhere, they wouldn't feel the need to ask it yet again.
