Chris Ryan's Strikeback

I thought some of the acting was a bit wooden but that was down to the script in my opinion. I have no idea about accuracies/inaccuracies or how it deviates from the book so perhaps it was easier for me to just take it at face value.

Nice bit of goodies v baddies fun.

This starts on Wednesday on Sky One. I've just been reading a review which states the first 10 minutes is full of macho cliches but worth sticking with. I will for Richard Armitage :o

I don't know anything about this story and I assume it based on a novel. I've not read any of Ryan's books.

never read the book, I didnt think i'd enjoy it (iraq etc) but watched it purely for Richard Armitage, with an extra bonus of Mr Lincoln too hmmmm, dont care what you all say its made my last 3 wednesday nights i LOVED every minute of it and loved having 6 hrs of Richard on my tv screen. :D

The trailer does look interesting but it is over a couple of more nights. Thrusday is going to be a busy night. Darts, politics and anti-politics on C4.

Watched episodes 3 and 4 tonight and enjoyed it just as much as the first two. I'm gutted that there are only six episodes and I'm really pleased that there are people on here who agree with me and like the series. I hope there are lots more viewers who enjoy it, decide to tell Sky and that they'll then decide to make more. :)

Just starting ep2 and will be following the whole series. One niggle though, I do wish they'd put some kinda stylised gritty filter over the camera lens, cos everything looked a bit too pretty.

Just fionished watching 3 and 4 and they were just as brilliant as the first 2!!!

Am liking that the series is getting good comments on RAB - hopefully we are a reflection of the audience and Sky will commission further episodes!!!

Am still truly shocked at the fact that it is a show produced for Sky One. This is what the channel should have moved towarRAB years ago instead of wasting a large chunk of its commissions budget on cheapo reality shows and the likes,

Puzzled as to why Sky One is airing the series in twos over three weeks rather than extending it over 6 weeks!!!! I know stories have mostly been two-parters, but for one good original drama they produce I would have thought they would extend its run as much as possible!!!!

Also, wonder what would happen if John Porter of MI6 Section 20 was asked to assist MI5?? Lol

Stuck me the difference between this and the US show The Unit. In the Unit the wives play a big part in providing a support network for their men, a place of calm so to speak for when they return home from risking their lives in order to save other peoples lives. In this series the main man is separated and his daughter hates him - lovely :) - I guess letting him have a happy home and love life would be too glamourising, and we can't have our heroes having everything thing go right for them, can we ?!, that's just not British.:mad:

Better pace than Luther, certainly - but utterly predictable throughout.

Luther had its flaws, certainly - but this looked like it had come straight off a conveyor belt.

Doesn't exactly bode well if this is Sky One's idea of home-grown drama ...

Although it did have Richard Armitage looking hot ... :D

What I really don't understand is why they chose 'Strike Back' as the novel to make into a TV program?

Chris Ryan wrote (hahaha) 6 novels using the same character 'Geordie Sharp', they would have been a much better choice. If they do go ahead and do another series I would imagine they will rewrite some of his books to use Richard Armitage or write totally new stories.
