Chris Hollins on Watchdog

I don't watch watchdog much, but from those bits I have seen of it, he seems ok. What I did find a bit off-putting was the way Anne Robinson seemed to be flirting with him. :cry:
 
His dad was hardly a household name , and had no connection with show biz or TV presenting. I doubt whether many viewers have the faintest idea of who his dad is.

Chris Hollins is a talented sportsman in his own right, and a good presenter. I don't understand why people need to have a go at him.
 
Thank you for your post. It did make me laugh. The media world is hilarious (I work in it) and I think Hollins is ridiculous. I will never take him as seriously as he takes himself :D

And I hated his ghastly charleston :D:D:D
 
Why not contract a proper consumer journalist such as paul heiney? A little knowledge is a dangerous thing wonder what chris hollins knows about consumer journalism.

The toruble with tv now days is because tv stars are so well paid they expect them to cross present which does not always work to viewers advantage.

I really like him! I don't see why anyone wouldn't, given that compared to most telly presenters, he's quite a natural bloke. He was lovely on Strictly last year. That Charleston with Ola was hilarious!

Sent a long e mail to Watchdog yesterday regarding one of the companies on this week's show. Don't be surprised if my ugly mug appears on telly!
 
I really hate him as a sports presenter. he's typical BBC, can't let the sport talk for itself, pathetic, twee presentation. He was OK on Strictly though and I liked his dance.

I think - talented sportsman overstates it. He played a few football games for lower league teams in a short career and then cricket for Oxford Uni. It's impressive that he went to Oxford after his football career though.

If you've heard Nicki Campbell on Radio 5 you'd know that he can put people on the spot. However the best person on Radio 5 for doing this is Peter Allen and I think he'd make a great Watchdog presenter.
 
I think to lure a proper consumer journalist they would have to start making a proper consumer program. I very often find myself wondering how they pass off some of this obvious watered down pap as consumer journalism.
 
He used to be (or is he still?) the sports reporter on the BBC Breakfast show.

The day after a gargantuan fight in the Heineken Cup, which ended as a 32 all draw between Leicester Tigers and the Ospreys I would have expected that to have been important news. Instead he waffled on about an East Lancashire wendyball derby. There might have been about 5 seconRAB of Heineken cup news but this Chris Hollins bloke had put me back to sleep.
