Which ever one of them it is, it's an appalling choice. Captain America is the elder stateman of the Marvel Universe. A mature and wise man. The Human Torch kid will really struggle to show the necessary gravitas.
The majority of the cinema going public wont have a clue about the Captain america comics so it doesn't really matter. Same thing for Iron Man. Only the comic book geeks would notice. As long as the film is good thats all that matters.
By mentioning Iron Man I just meant that it's a comic book character that the majority of people will know nothing about so they don't have to be completely spot on to every detail. They aren't on par with Batman, Superman, Spiderman etc. Obviouisly some comic book fans will pipe upwhen spotting inaccuracies. I just think that if they can get the film to a standard as good as Iron Man then that's all that matters. I haven't seen Chris Evans in many films so I'm not sure how good an actor he is.
Appartently Marvel are rebooting the Fantastic Four anyway so the fact that Chris Evans has played the Human Torch wont matter. He has signed for the first Captain America film as well as any sequels. Also the deal includes The Avengers films which feature Captain America, The Hulk, Nick Fury, Iron Man and Thor!
Was that ever confirmed for sure that it's actually happening? Seems totally mad to reboot a franchise so soon after they first tried. I don't think there's much wrong with the 00s Fantastic Four films anyway - FF has always been one of the more kid friendly "universes" than most of the others. I can't see how they'd manage to change it much apart from re-casting the actors.
I'd rather they focus on superheros who haven't been given the spotlight on the big screen yet than keep rehashing the same ones over and over.
