Chris Evans - The One Show

He was called in at the last minute according to the man himself on the radio this morning; he got to the studio at 6pm for a 7pm

I wonder why Alex couldn't do it herself because it's not actually very many minutes that the presenters spend saying anything because the 'features' take up most of the time on the programme!

His hair looks like he's going a bit baldy on the top but he seems to have a fluffy bit stuck on the front that is a bit more gingery than the whiter looking hair on the rest of his head! ;)

I thought it was a bit odd until I realised it was a prop for James Martin's vacuum packed cooking thing.

Much prefer Chris to Jason (Jason's inexperience in presenting is all too evident). Jason's delivery basically lacks confidence - very stilted and unable to provide smooth links whilst maintaining interest in the interviewee. I have only seen the show a couple of times because I cringe when he cuts one of the interviewees in mid sentence or does not acknowledge the answer to his previous question.

It's not his fault, I think it's simply inexperience. The BBC should have warmed him up for the evening slot by giving him segments on a show first. Dressing up as the tin-man and being popular aren't very good credentials for hosting a prime time show.

I think putting the inexperienced Jason with a newcomer wasn't a particularly good idea but had Christine stayed, her experienced would have helped Jason more than Alex can! She and Chris Evans seem to have a good rapport.

The new, hour-long One Show starts next Friday I see. Will be interesting to watch the ratings as it has always been down on the rest of the week when ginger knob has been presenting.

I read Jason's Tweets. His wife was unwell, his twins were unwell, it was his wedding anniversary, then he had a bit of a cold...Friday and Saturday he was back out gigging though.

I much prefer Chris or Matt Baker on The One Show and Jason on the animal voiceovers.
