Mind you wasn't Blockbusters meant to be closing down at least 2 years ago?
What do you expect when you can go to Morrisons and buy a brand new DVD release for

yes I certainly don't buy every new release and I seldom watch a film more than once unless it's that good. I was just stating that with prices of new release going straight for DVD retail, rather than the rental period before a film went for sale, has all contributed to falling customers in these shops.
God i won't bother opening my mouth next time:rolleyes:

remember the days when it was unheard of for a new release to be available to buy on the day of release. It used to always be to rent only for about six months. How times have changed. Now it is unheard of for a film to go rental only. I remember Pretty Woman being one of the first films ever to go on sell through (as it was called then) straight away.

Back on topic my local Choices is still open normal hours but the games section is empty. The shelves are bare.

The most expensive video I ever saw was in an HMV in London when Ghost came out to rent. HMV were selling brand new rental copies fo

Now Warner Bros are at it again, looks like Blockbusters days are numbered, thanks to Warners inking a deal with SKY.Now the likes of I am Legend & Jessie Jamers being available on SKY PPV the same day as the DVD rental/retail release.Lucky then that Warners have F all worth watching at the momentHere is hoping 'Batman' will be a poison challace that kills of Warners. If I ever hated a particular noard & distributors its has the be WARNERS & there chif Ron Saunders ,lets hope he get stuck in Heathrows T5!!

Yeah Blockbusters have purchased the Choices by me. Shame really, because I remember that store opening when I was about 10 (11 years ago) and would go in every Sunday and rent a video. That stopped when DVD's came out. I'm surprised Blockbusters are still going to be honest. Methinks the days of the video rental are over.

Are they still popular in the US? Rental shops always seem more popular over there than they ever were here.
