Chocolate (Thai Martial Arts Movie)

I've been back into watching kung fu movies recently. Revisted a couple of old classics by Lee, Chan and Li and also watched Tony Jaa's Warrior King.

I pretty much agree with what someone else posted
"Probably the worst film with the best martial arts" :D

The plot was shockingly bad but loved the action, especially the non-use of wires and cgi etc.
From looking on IMDB and I think it was mentioned in another thread I found this other Thai martial arts film.


So, Chocolate. Wow, what a film. A martial arts film with a decent plot (ok, until the final fight scenes - why is their always a restaurant where the workers are ninjas?).

Great work by the girl. I see she has another film out so i'll have to keep a look out for that.

I also like the hospital reel at the end. ReminRAB me of Jackie Chan films.
 
Agree with everything you said. These films, especially Tony Jaa, are to watched for the martial arts only, the rest of it is just rubbish. So it was nice to see Chocolate with decent everything. I prefer it over the Tony Jaa films actually. Really enjoyed Chocolate, especially the end fight sequence with that guy with the glasses.
 
Chocolate is much better than Raging Phoenix. I'll not go into too much detail but watch it and see if you don't agree. It was also me that made the Warrior King comments. Tony Jaa badly neeRAB a decent screenplay, but i fear that if he went to Hollywood to find one, something would be lost.
In my view, Jackie Chan's, and to a lesser extent, Jet Li's American films are inferior to their Hong Kong work.
 
I watched Raging Pheonix last night and it is back to a laughable script, wires and cgi.
It's kind of a cross between drunken master, perfume: story of a murderer with some indiana jones and big trouble in little china thrown in.


The lead girl can look cute when dolled up through :)
 
I've had "Chocolate" for a few weeks now. I must get round to watching it sometime !

I think that they write the fight scenes first, then try, usually unsuccessfully, to find a plot to join them together. Or maybe there's an Asian George Lucas who writes them.
