Having nothing better to do tonight I trolled around the tv channels looking for something to watch.

At first Chocolat on BBC2 sounded a poor choice, but I do love some of the cast members
Judy Dench Jonny Depp and Alfred Molina.

I was very glad I watched it, as its an extremly well crafted film directed by Lasse Hallstrom.

Certainly the best movie I have seen this year on tv or in the cinema.

Anyone else seen this movie and if so what did you think of it ?
 
I got it on DVD a while ago just cos I heard it was good and was really pleasantly surprised. I found myself grinning from ear to ear as the end credits rolled. The memory of that film has and will stay with me for a long time

Talking of which, I may go put it on now!
 
Wow Johnny Depp looks positively gorgeous in this movie - perfect hair, beautifully tanned skin, perfect complexion!!!! :eek: Oh and the story was okay too :p I found myself wanting chocolate alot throughout that movie...
 
haha I bought a box of after eight mints for a friend that I was jsut waiting to give to her, but by halfway throught the film, I had eaten half the box!!
 
Thanks for the comments, so my taste in movies isnt all bad then, I can spot a good movie.

btw if you look online there are websites with recipes from the movie.

also beware eating too much choccie according to Stephen Fry on Qi its poisonous, 22LB will kill you if you eat it in one go.

ahhh, Chocolat is one of my favourite films, simply wonderful :)

The book is excellent too, the two are fairly different, but for some reason it's one of the few book to film adaptations that really worked in my opinion :cool:
