i've been taking this for some time now and am concerned that it is making
it very difficult to get up out of bed in the morning, and the day...i realise it
is a sedative and i have been advised to continue taking it for my overall
mental health, except this week i ran out of it and had to go without, and i found
that although i had difficulty getting off to sleep,in the morning i didn't have
the need to sleep in or resist getting up....i'm going to try again tonight not taking it and seeing if i can get up okay in the morning.....staying in bed all day is making me miserable and i don't want to take anything that will make this more likely...it's no kind of life to lead

What illness are you sufferin from? There are other drugs with similar effects to chlorpromazine, but which are much less sedating, your doctor could switch you to one of these. Examples include trifluroperazine, perphenazine and haloperidol

hey..thanks for replying...i'm suffering from schizophrenia and depression, anxiety also...i've got an appointment with my doctor tommorow and i'll ask her if she can switch to a less sedative ..i couldn't sleep last night so ended up taking half my dosage and have been asleep all day again
