questions about Facebook block? How can we help them understand that there is life beyond Facebook, and they need to respect the Chinese Laws while they stay here in China?

Try introducing them to the Chinese versions of Facebook and Youtube. I don't recall their exact website addresses, but it's quite similar (their website design is almost identical!). Facebook, in some ways, is almost like a comfort drug, similar to chocolate or tea or coffee. If they can't get off it (aka quitting cold turkey), then they need to deal with the consequences that may happen. Either find the substitute, or deal with the officials in court (if not directly thrown into jail and get beaten by the Chinese Triads). I've been FB-less for the past month, and though it feels strange not being able to directly look at what a friend is up to, I'm slowly getting used to it and reverting back to good old emailing and dialing through phones. Another thing, I don't believe that the "life beyond FB" is related to respecting Chinese laws. I sort of understand what you're getting at, but it's still like apples and oranges.
