Chinese import dirt bikes?

im looking into buying a mini dirt bike for my 5yo boy & from what i can gather its a chinese import. I have heard that they are extremely badly made and also that they are fine. Could people let me know what they think about these bikes ? and before people ask ? Im getting an import because i cant afford £500 for a big brand bike more or less im willing to pay £220. THANX AGAIN
