Chinese ebay parts..

i dont want to be the guinea pig who buys things and i crash because of chinese made parts.. but it really makes more sense for those of us on a budget.

ive spent thousands on mods for zx10r and thousands for gear. for my 1098 i dont want to skimp, but im wondering if its really worth it for some hard parts. IE, rearsets, levers, other bits.

its only a matter of time before exhaust systems come from there, the prices are getting insane.

im just a normal guy, blue collar, hard working along w/ my wife. i dont have piles of money to piss away.

not sure whos to blame but ya cant blame people for wanting to buy overseas when we cant even afford to buy american made products...
 
yes. lol. sometimes i ramble.

i guess im looking for someone to tell me they have bought and used the chinese stuff w/ no issues.. havent heard anything yet, which means i should stay away..
 
That's the funny part about human psychology. We want the latest and greatest things for our toys and often will spit out ungodly amounts of money for these trinkets.

Then 3-4 years later and looking at the bike, it's just another used motorcycle with some worthless parts on it. For example, the spool and cables might show up on ebay for about $90.
 
I crashed a set of china made rear sets and they broke in 2 spots, the are made of very weak junk metal...
They didn't cause the crash but that's how I found out how poor their quality is...
I also had a set of levers they function well but ghe adjustment thingys just fell off...
No more china sh!t on my duc...
 
I got quite a few of the chinese stuff levers, rearsets, gas cap, etc, so far all of them have been just as good as the higher price stuff if you factor in the price. I dont think the quality is as good as the high end aftermarket, but it is cheaper and better then most of the oem stuff. Im not sure Id buy some of there more race oriented parts, I saw a full billet adjustable triple set on sale a fleabay.
 
guys if you want a good deal on some billet parts, gascap, reservoir caps, and clutch cover are interchangeable with 998 parts. I bought all these parts for the 998 for my 1098 and they fit perfectly, and most of it was less then half price. reservoir cap set was 80 for the 10, and 30 for the 998, gas cap around 20 and the open clutch cover was 30 for the 998 and over a hundred for the 1098.
